Nutrition
The alarming fact is that foods (fruits, vegetables and grains) now being raised on millions of acres of land that no longer contains enough of certain minerals are starving us no matter how much of them we eat. No man of today can eat enough fruits and vegetables to supply his system with the minerals he requires for perfect health because his stomach is not big enough to hold them! And we are running into big stomachs.
The above quote is not from
, myself, or any other person trying to make something up in order to sell you something. It is from a 1936 US Senate document (134). You can view a copy of this document with commentary by Tony Escobar HERE, or you can view it on the US Senate's own web site HERE.
This document goes on to say:
No longer does a balanced and fully nourishing diet consist merely of so many calories or certain vitamins or a fixed proportion of starches, proteins, and carbohydrates. We now know that it must contain, in addition, something like a score of mineral salts.
It is bad news to learn from our leading authorities that 99 percent of the American people are deficient in these minerals, and that a marked deficiency in any one of the more important minerals actually results in disease. Any upset of the balance, any considerable lack of one or another element, however microscopic the body requirement may be, and we sicken, suffer, shorten our lives.
This was written in 1936 74 years ago! Think what the nutritional state of our food is now:
- In 1988, the Surgeon General's Report on Health and Nutrition concluded that fifteen out of every twenty-one deaths in the United States involved nutritional deficiencies (almost 75 percent).1
- In 1992, world leaders concluded in the Earth Summit Report that over the past ten years, mineral depletion of the soil was over 76% in Europe and over 80% in America.2
- In 1994, the U.S. Congress decisively concluded that ingestion of the proper nutrients actually prevents chronic disease.2
Add to this the fact that since this 1936 report, we have started using hundreds of different chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals on our crops and animals. Then there are the thousands of other chemicals that get into the air and our water supply and are absorbed by the food we eat.
We live in a nutritionally diminished and toxic world. Even if we do supplement our diets with minerals and vitamins, the toxins we contain prevent us from absorbing them properly and also cause sickness and disease. Read more about toxins and cleansing HERE.
