Hunger & Food Cravings
Most people think that they get hungry because their stomach is empty. While this is true, there is more to it than that. Have you ever eaten just a little and then felt even hungrier than before? Have you ever walked past a restaurant and the smell made you feel hungry? Have you ever simply seen a picture of a great meal or desert in a magazine or on TV and suddenly got hungry or thought I need a snack?
Most people think that they have cravings for certain foods, snacks or treats because they taste good. Then the thought of these things makes them hungry. Again, while there is some truth to this, there's more to it. Think of a pregnant woman. It's not uncommon to have sudden cravings for things like dill pickles and ice cream (or wishes someone made dill pickle ice cream), even when she previously didn't even like dill pickles.
Why does this happen? Why do we get hungry from the mere thought of certain foods? Why do we simply gotta have that chocolate bar or bag of chips? The answer is nutrition. Throughout our lives our bodies have come to associate certain foods with certain nutrients. Hunger and cravings are our body's way of saying I need that mineral or I need that vitamin. The problem is that when we eat what we are accustomed to in order to satisfy our body's needs, that food or snack also comes with a lot of other stuff we don't need or are not good for us. Then there's the problem of those foods not actually containing an antiquate supply of what our body needs so we eat more of it. Then there's the problem of the quick fix these foods give us which doesn't last long so we eat more of it for another quick fix. And the cycle goes on.
What I have described here is merely an over simplification of what is really going on with hormones, neurotransmitters, and the like. The bottom line is we get cravings and hunger for certain foods because our body is not getting the nutrition it needs. The
products address these nutritional deficiencies in our diets by providing all the minerals, vitamins and other nutrients needed for our bodies to function properly.
The result is the cravings for nutritionally bankrupt foods are reduced and the need to eat a high volume of food is reduced. We are able to get the nutrients we need in less food and our bodies don't demand more.

For more information on hormones, neurotransmitters, and the like and how these are directly affected by our diet I highly recommend the book The Mars and Venus Diet and Exercise Solution by john Gray. You may be able to find it at your local library or book store, or I know Amazon.com has it.
